Why hate SUVs?
- They raise gas prices.
SUV's raise gas prices, its a fact. They need twice as much gas to go the same distance as a mid priced coupe or sedan, and SUV's are disporportionately used in city driving environments (how ironic) where gas mileage is the lowest. Not only does this help make gas scarcer by depleting the planet's resources at a faster rate than said coupe or sedan, but the gas companies begin charging even more because their biggest customers (SUV's have GIANT tanks) are frivolous consumers who don't mind paying a few cents extra here and there for "luxury."
- Yuppies drive them.
SUV's have succesfully replaced the BMW 3-Series as the preferred choice/status symbol of yuppies everywhere. These are the same people who don't know the price of milk and give their kids lastname firstnames like Porter.
- They are killers!
SUV's weigh up to 3 times as much as a regular old car. Anyone who knows anything about physics can figure out that if a normal car gets in an accident with an SUV (and they have notoriously unattentive drivers!) the normal car is at a serious disadvantage. Factor in that they're usually seriously exceeding the posted limit, and you have an even deadlier wreck. While the sedan driver's family is at his funeral meanwhile, the SUV driver will probably use the situation as an excuse to get a new even LARGER SUV.
- Did I mention yuppies drive them?
Not to mention that private school parking lots are littered with them. Just the fact that whenever you meet someone that is an eletist snob they almost always happen to be driving an SUV should be the catalyst that makes you get out of the house and join the CHOINKING revolution today!
